Handcrafted Figurine – Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko

“Fight – you will win, God helps you”. Poet No. 1 in Ukraine, adored spring, fish and borsch with dried crucian carp. He mastered the art of painting and became an engraver. He was an active participant in the Kyiv-Methodievsky Brotherhood and a sincere priest of the spiritism of the “Mochemordia Society”. His “Kobzar” is read by everyone from Alaska to the Carpathians.

We were inspired by the writer’s creative legacy and created the “Taras Shevchenko” souvenir. 

For those who adore Kobzar’s writing, it is just as penetrating and ingenious in its own way. 

The toy is made in the author’s technique using a mixture of paper, sawdust, water, buckwheat husks and paste.

Each figurine is sculpted by hand, baked at high temperatures, polished and painted by our craftsmen by hand acrylic paints based on vintage jewelry. Thanks to this treatment, they are durable and resistant to mechanical damage. We carefully mold the small elements for each figure from cotton wool, just like a hundred years ago, and decorate them with fabric applications. They are safe for children and animals because they do not break. Environmentally friendly and durable.
