Goat in Lemko Traditional Costume

Toy in ethnic style. The toy “Goat in Lemko style” is sewn from natural fabrics, filled with padding polyester. The doll can be dressed/undressed, washed. The goat symbolizes fertility, a plentiful harvest, so in Christmas songs they sang:

“Where the goat thump-thump, There are seven heaps of rye, Where it is with a horn, There is rye with a stack, Where the goat with a tail, There is rye with a bush”

According to legend, when God created man, the devil became jealous, and he kneaded clay and molded his likeness – with a beard, tail and horns; but no matter how much he blew – he could not breathe life into it. Then the Lord blew – and immediately the goat jumped – rushed at the devil and began to beat him with its horns. Since then, the devil is not afraid of anyone as much as a goat, and witches are wary of taking milk from goats.
