There are thousands of fairy tales, legends and traditions – from colorful pages they are spoken by the mouths of desperate, a little funny, but good-natured heroes. As guardians of memories, we have embodied them in the craft collection “Gold”. The familiar images of Ukrainian folklore shimmer in golden tones – our craftsmen made them from natural fabrics, filled them with synthetic winterizer and painted with acrylic paints. Embroidered in the light of true magic, each of the textile decorations will preserve the warmth of your favorite stories!

Angel

In traditional culture, there are three angelic ranks. Angels of the lower hierarchy take care of people – they warned and protected, and were also intermediaries of God, conveying His intentions.

Bublik

Carolers should be given generous gifts, otherwise the owners could turn away good luck. So they prepared a treat, including several bundles of bagels – salty, with jam or poppy seeds.

The Hut

Ukrainians carefully chose a place for their future home: they believed that it would protect the owners from misfortune. Areas where a ghoul had been seen or where lightning had struck were considered unlucky. Areas where cattle lay down or ants lived were considered lucky.

The Christmas Tree

People believed that the spruce tree was an expression of eternity and that spirits lived in it. To gain their favor, they made the tree ritualistic and started the tradition of decorating spruce branches.

The Goat

In Ukrainian folklore, the goat symbolized fertility and fertility. In order for the coming year to pass in abundance, they “led a goat” on a generous evening, accompanying the ceremony with songs and dances.

Moon   

This cosmogenic image marks the beginning and the end. The “new moon” is unfavorable for beginnings, the full moon is favorable for engagements and work on the earth, and the “old” one was associated with ghouls and witches.

Rooster   

This bird is the guardian of harmony and consistent time. Depending on the color, its attributive meaning changes, in particular, the golden rooster is associated with the sun, and therefore with awakening.

Star   

There is a legend that stars embody angels. These spiritual messengers have settled on the heavenly staircase and hold lighted candles – from there they watch over the souls of people.

Firebird   

Another name for this colorful bird is “kreshana”: the one who crushes living fire. It borrows its bright flame from the sun – so with each of its movements lightning appears in the sky.

Grasshopper   

The horse was a chthonic creature – a mediator between the world of the living and the dead. In fairy tales, endowed with magical power, the horse always came to the aid of its master.
