A toy from the new series “From Roman to Jordan” – “Generous Evening”
The stars of this collection illustrate winter Ukrainian holidays, sewn from natural fabrics, filled with padding polyester, and hand-painted by Ternopil craftsmen.
Generous Evening is January 13. As on Christmas Eve, a festive dinner is prepared on this day, which is popularly called Generous, because the dishes of this evening are not lean: there is kutya, homemade sausages, and ham on the table. On the holiday of Malanka, young people give generously all night and lead a young man dressed as Malanka. The group also includes a bear, goat, crane, gypsy, gypsy woman, and devil. The heroes wear fur coats with wool on top, paint themselves with white clay and soot, and make beards and mustaches out of tow. Everyone has their own role: the gypsy woman tells fortunes, the gypsy changes horses, the bear dances, the goat plays the violin, and the crane, the tallest young man in the village, beats the tambourine.
