Sculptural Figure – Mykola Hohol

One ​​of the most famous Ukrainians in the world, whose nationality is the subject of duels. A Ukrainian who writes in Russian is not a paradox, but a reality. The author of bizarre poems filled with mystical images and folklore elements that make your hair stand on end. The most famous: “Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka”, “Taras Bulba”, “Viy”.

We were inspired by the writer’s creative work and created a souvenir “Nikolai Gogol”.

 For those who are interested in ethnography, adore Ukrainian demonology and fantasy.

 The toy is made in the author’s technique using a mixture of paper, sawdust, water, buckwheat husks and paste.

Each figurine is sculpted by hand, baked at high temperatures, polished and painted by our craftsmen with acrylic paints based on vintage jewelry. Thanks to this treatment, they are durable and resistant to mechanical damage. We carefully mold the small elements for each figure from cotton wool, just like a hundred years ago, and decorate them with fabric applications. They are safe for children and animals because they do not break. Environmentally friendly and durable.
