Goat in Ukrainian Traditional Costume

Ethno-style toy. The toy “Goat in Ukrainian Style” is sewn from natural fabrics, filled with padding polyester. The doll can be dressed/undressed, washed. The goat symbolizes fertility, the future harvest, so in Christmas songs they sang: “Where the goat thump-thump, There are seven heaps of rye, Where it is with a horn, There is rye in a stack, Where the goat is with a tail, There is rye in a bush”. According to legend, when God created man, the devil became jealous, and he kneaded clay and molded his likeness – with a beard, tail and horns; but no matter how much he blew, he could not breathe life into it. Then the Lord blew, and immediately the goat jumped up, rushed at the devil and began to beat him with its horns. Since then, the devil is not afraid of anyone as much as a goat, and witches are wary of taking milk from goats.
