A toy from the new series “From Roman to Jordan” – “St. Nicholas Day”.
The stars of this collection illustrate winter Ukrainian holidays, sewn from natural fabrics, filled with padding polyester, and hand-painted by Ternopil craftsmen.
St. Nicholas Day is December 6. The most desired day of the year for children. On the eve of the holiday, children write letters with wishes and put them outside the window, recalling all their good and bad deeds, because good children will find a gift under their pillow in the morning, and naughty ones will find a knife. St. Nicholas protects warriors, travelers, helps the poor in need, and is considered the patron saint of sailors. All Odessa fishermen had an image of St. Nicholas in their huts. Going out to sea to fish, fishermen always took with them the image of the holy miracle worker.
