Christmas December 25 “Holy Family”.

According to the Gospel accounts, Jesus’ mother, Mary, and her husband Joseph lived in Nazareth, and came to Bethlehem, fulfilling the order of the ruler Augustus to appear for a census of the entire population. Since so many people gathered for the census, Mary and Joseph could not find a place to spend the night, and therefore they had to seek shelter in a small cave where shepherds hid in bad weather. There Mary gave birth to Jesus, then an angel descended from heaven and informed the shepherds that God had been born, so they were the first to come to worship the baby.
