Christmas Ornament – Nativity Devil (Sculptural)

A nativity scene is a prayerful glorification of God through theatrical action and a comic reflection of everyday life, which has been observed for several centuries.

However, the nativity scene takes its basis far from Christianity, but from the ancient veneration of the New Sun, the New Grain Year, which begins with the sun’s turn to spring.

Eco-friendly materials are used for production: wood shavings and sawdust, buckwheat husks, shredded unpainted paper, and a flour paste-based adhesive mixture.

Toys, like delicious cookies, are baked in specially designed molds in the oven, gaining strength but not losing lightness.

The devil is the most mischievous character in the nativity scene. With horns, pitchforks, and a fur coat, he wriggled through the crowd, collecting treats. This role was given only to seasoned performers who participated in the show year after year.
