According to Ukrainian tradition, Didukh is the last harvest sheaf, a symbol of the end of the agricultural year. Its main components are rye, wheat, oats and flax.
This straw amulet embodies the spirit of ancestors, the continuation of the family, a good harvest, peace, harmony and prosperity in the home.
The tradition of installing Didukh in the corner of the home dates back to ancient times. In pre-Christian beliefs, he was the personification of the god of Christmas Carols — a symbol of memory of ancestors and family unity.
The people used to say: “Grandfather to the house – trouble from the house”.
The festive sheaf was in the house for a week, and in some places — until Epiphany. His presence created a warm, festive atmosphere, giving the home coziness and blessings.
Our Didukh is made using classic Ukrainian technology: each spikelet is hand-picked and woven with love and care.
We use environmentally friendly materials, grown independently and pressed by hand with a sickle, as our ancestors did.
Product height: 20 cm
A wonderful decoration for the Christmas holidays or an authentic gift with a soul.
Each Didukh is unique. After all, it is handmade, and exact repetition is impossible. This is its special value and warmth.
