According to Ukrainian traditions, Didukh is the last sheaf of the harvest, collected from the field. The basis of the Christmas sheaf is rye, wheat, oats and flax. The straw amulet symbolizes the spirit of ancestors, the continuation of the family, prosperity in the home and peace in the family.
Installing Didukh in the home is an ancient tradition that dates back to pre-Christian times. He was considered the embodiment of the god of Christmas and was an integral part of the Christmas rite.
People used to say: “Didukh in the house is trouble from the house.”
Our Didukh is made using classic Ukrainian technology: each spikelet is collected by hand with love and respect for tradition. We use environmentally friendly materials, grown and cut by hand with a sickle.
