Souvenir – Angel Doll “Quickly”

The motto of the first Scout-type organization, founded by Biden Powell, as well as similar organizations of some other nations,
is “Be prepared.”

The Scouts use this motto in the novice system (the motto is “Get ready”). Young men greet each other with the word “SKOB”.
The word itself means the name of the eagle breed – the white-tailed eagle (Haliaetus albicilla).
The scouts adopted it as their symbol.

The letters of the Ukrainian name for the eagle are the initial letters of four words that express the essential characteristics of a good scout or tell him what he should be:

Strong mind and body
Beautiful soul
Cautious in his intentions and plans
Quick in thoughts and deeds.

The figurative symbols of these scout signs are the oak leaf, the chains of red viburnum, the moor grass and lightning.

The oak is a hard (strong) tree, so its leaf became a symbol of strength.

For centuries, viburnum berries have been used to decorate wreaths, hair, etc., viburnum is a symbol beauty.

Amanita muscaria is a poisonous mushroom that should be avoided, so it has become a symbol of caution.

Lightning with its speed is a symbol of quickness.
